About Organization:
Bahawalpur has consistently been a seat of higher learning. As a continuation of this practice, a strict University (Jamia Abbasia) was set up in Bahawalpur in 1925, following the scholastic quest for Jamia Al-Azhar, Egypt. Considering the evolving situation, Jamia Abbasia was pronounced as an overall University in 1975 and was renamed The Islamia University of Bahawalpur. To develop cutting-edge and independent grounds, 1250 sections of land were allocated to the University on Hasilpur Road around eight kilometers from the downtown area.
